Toxic and Mass Torts
Willman & Silvaggio has successfully defended toxic tort cases for three decades.  Companies named in such suits face the potential for considerable loss in the form of damages, ongoing legal costs and negative publicity.  Our firm’s representation of manufacturers, distributors and contractors of chemicals and substances has allowed us to develop expertise in the handling of thousands of toxic tort claims both on a national and local level.

Insurance Coverage
Willman & Silvaggio is uniquely qualified and experienced in commercial insurance coverage.  A significant portion of our insurance defense work has concentrated on the circumstances and needs of policy holders. We also have litigated or advised insurance companies in connection with commercial coverage disputes -- especially as it relates to policy obligations and bad faith claims – to minimize risk and to effectively resolve disputes.

Defective Product Litigation
Our Courtroom experience coupled with our ability to understand our clients’ operations has made Willman & Silvaggio a leader in the field of Products Liability Litigation at all levels.  The companies we represent vary in size from small, local concerns to multi-national corporations.  We defend our clients against claims of design defect, strict liability, failure to warn and a host of other novel allegations with the expertise attained through many years of defense litigation.

Civil Litigation
Willman & Silvaggio excels at complex civil litigation. Our attorneys have successfully defended a broad spectrum of cases in many different fields. We are best known for our expertise in product liability and toxic tort cases. Our experience includes the defense of allegations of strict liability, negligent design and manufacture, failure to warn and breach of warranty for motor vehicles, household products, medical devices and hazardous substances. We are the first choice of many insurance carriers when seeking advice regarding litigation of personal injury or property damage cases arising from premises liability, auto accidents, and negligent construction.  Our attorneys also have experience with employment and labor law issues that are continuously confronted by our commercial and municipal clients.

Business Planning and Transactions
Willman & Silvaggio understands the unique legal needs associated with creating and running a business, planning and administering an estate, defending the rights of a business in legal disputes and protecting the interests of municipal governments. The administrative and business transactions that are encountered are a common denominator in all of these situations. We work with our clients to provide direction, counseling and support for the long-term welfare of their business or governmental entity.

Real Estate
Real estate transactions have been a mainstay of the firm’s practice since its inception. Willman & Silvaggio has excelled at providing solutions to increasingly complex commercial real estate transactions. Our clients are principally financial institutions, builders, developers, small businesses and governmental entities.
