Civil Litigation

Willman & Silvaggio excels at complex civil litigation. Our attorneys have successfully defended a broad spectrum of cases in many different fields. We are best known for our expertise in product liability and toxic tort cases. Our experience includes the defense of allegations of strict liability, negligent design and manufacture, failure to warn and breach of warranty for motor vehicles, household products, medical devices and hazardous substances. We are the first choice of many insurance carriers when seeking advice regarding litigation of personal injury or property damage cases arising from premises liability, auto accidents, and negligent construction.  Our attorneys also have experience with employment and labor law issues that are continuously confronted by our commercial and municipal clients.

Willman and Silvaggio also serves the litigation needs of small businesses, banks, municipalities, and freight carriers regarding municipal contracts, enactment of ordinances, municipal bonds, development projects and land use matters. We also assist individuals and corporations with litigation related to the financing, acquisition and development of real estate.

Personal Injury Defense

Personal injury defense occurs in many areas of law including worker’s compensation, toxic tort, municipal law (slip and fall) and almost any other area of law.  Willman & Silvaggio has successfully represented businesses, both big and small, and municipalities in successfully defending these claims.  Willman & Silvaggio is successful in all types of personal injury claims because of our aggressive strategies, while still understanding the limits of the client.

Professional Liability

Anyone or any firm that represents to the public that they are an expert in a particular field can be held responsible for their work, advice and counsel.  Historically, professional liability only extended to doctors, lawyers, CPS, architects and other professions that require an advanced degree.  However, the scope of professional liability has broadened significantly and includes such fields as technology consultants, software designers, engineers, marketing consultants, technology consultants and anyone who holds themselves out as an expert.

Willman & Silvaggio represents and defends these experts concerning their professional services and duties as well as in class actions and administrative proceedings.  We work closely with our clients to evaluate the situations, to resolve disputes and to strategically limit liability and exposure.  When businesses, reputations and careers are being jeopardized, we are there to protect our clients.

Commercial Contractual Litigation

Willman & Silvaggio is experienced in the resolution of commercial contractual disputes.  We diligently represent local, regional and national businesses in the litigation and mediation of cases ranging from business transactions and officer and director liability to environmental and real estate issues.  Because of our excellent reputation, Willman & Silvaggio has been asked to serve as both national and local counsel for businesses and companies seeking skillful and aggressive legal representation.

Employment Law

Willman & Silvaggio is committed to providing our clients with advice and services geared toward resolution of the many employment law issues facing businesses of all types and sizes.  We offer a broad range of services to our clients, including assistance with the design and implementation of employee company policies and the representation of clients in labor and arbitration disputes. Our attorneys are experienced in many facets of employment law including wrongful termination, discrimination, and workers’ compensation.  Willman & Silvaggio’s attorneys have experience in trial and appellate litigation in the federal and state court system, as well as administrative proceedings before State and Federal employment related agencies.

Construction Defects

Construction defect claims are typically complex and involve many different and interrelated areas of the law, such as insurance coverage, product and professional liability, contracts, toxic tort, and personal injury.  We represent insurers, contractors, owners, architects/design professionals, product suppliers, and remediators in cases involving construction delay, bodily injury, property damage and exposure to toxic substances during or as a result of construction.
